Fly-fishing at Raystown Lake

Trough Creek State Park
- Fishing: Stream fishing in Great Trough Creek provides
a variety of fish including trout, smallmouth bass, rock bass,
suckers and panfish. In recent years, shad fish netting has become
popular each spring when these fish enter tributaries of Raystown
Lake to spawn.
- Hunting: About 100 acres are open to hunting, trapping
and the training of dogs during established seasons. Common game
species are deer, turkey, grouse and squirrel.

Whipple Dam

- Fishing: Whipple Lake and Laurel Run are stocked with
trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission in the spring
and winter months. All Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission laws
and regulations apply.
- Hunting and Firearms: A portion of Whipple Dam State
Park is open to hunting, trapping and the training of dogs during
established seasons. Common game species are deer, grouse,
squirrel, bear, turkey and waterfowl.

Greenwood Furnace
- Fishing: Greenwood Lake is regularly stocked with
trout. Ice fishing is permitted. All Pennsylvania Fish and Boat
Commission laws and regulations apply.
- Hunting and Firearms: A portion of the park and most of
the adjacent
Rothrock State Forest lands are open to hunting during posted
seasons. Special state park hunting regulations and Pennsylvania
Game Commission laws apply. Contact the park office for accessible
hunting information.
